Our Mission

Welcome to neo Abacus

neo Abacus specializes in real-time interactive business intelligence solutions and is committed to offering a rich information supply chain (ISC).  An ISC offers visibility into the flow of a business in real-time, while removing the traditional rigidity, friction, and expense associated with that movement most companies struggle with today.
Experts in XBRL (Extensible Business Reporting Language) with many years experience in large scale enterprise-wide design, development and implementation, the company bridges the gap between emerging technologies and the practical issues of the business domain - specializing in real-time interactive business solutions. The company provides its software applications, XBRL tool sets and performance suites to corporate and government clients through a subscription (SAAS) model.  The company additionally provides XBRL strategy and consulting services as well as contract research and development.

Our Perspective

The field of information technology has incessantly maturated and grown in sophistication over its relatively short life of the past 50 years. At times, sudden leaps forward have tempted a thinking of finality in the field’s evolution.

Yet when contrasted to other, more established fields, such as law, medicine, or physics, the field of information technology appears to still be quite nascent - possibly analogous to the field of physics prior to Sir Isaac Newton. Of particular note is the absence of formalized heuristics or guiding principals, which slows its maturation and renders much confusion.

In contrast, in the practice of mathematics there is an accepted sequence to learning and applying the concepts of quantity, structure, space, and change. From a historical perspective, mathematics illustrates a progression of enabling concepts. Through the use of abstraction and logical reasoning, mathematics evolved from simple concepts of counting and measurement to the sophisticated concepts of calculation and the systematic study of the shapes and motions of physical objects. Eventually the field advanced to more complex composite theories of Chaos and Strings.

The relevance in information technology lies in how to realize a greater value proposition. Concepts such as counting and addition and subtraction are primitive fundamentals that have extremely broad application. Likewise in information technology, concepts such as encapsulation are rudimentary to effective architecture. But what is not so obvious in an ever extending and collaborative enterprise is what are the chain of information technology concepts or guiding principals that when assimilated and organized into an information technology architecture result in benefits otherwise unachievable. Just as realizing the benefits of applying calculus or chaos theory necessitated the discovery and comprehension of the principals of algebra which in turn necessitated equations and so on.
